Benefits of Membership
OSHEAN currently has members in Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts. Our membership includes all higher education institutions in Rhode Island, state and local government, seven health care organizations, five institutions of higher education in Massachusetts and K-12 schools and public libraries throughout RI.
Membership with OSHEAN provides access to commodity internet and Internet2 as well as a varied assorment of member services. The value of OSHEAN membership comes not only from our ability to provide these services, but also our ability to provide opportunities for our members to collaborate with each other in many ways.

OSHEAN Shore Patrol
The OSHEAN Shore Patrol is a member working group focused on sharing knowledge related to information security. This group meets on a regular basis to present new ideas, solutions to problems, and discuss member security needs. The Shore Patrol maintains a mailing list where announcements for new security services, training opportunities, and direct knowledge sharing take place.
Additionally, this group collaborates on the use of the Nautilus Security Service.
Master Service Agreements with vendors
The ability to purchase under our Master Service Agreements with vendors allows members the benefit of reduced prices for items and services for which we have negotiated lower prices.
Collaboration with other members
OSHEAN membership gives you the opportunity to collaborate with other members on projects, knowledge sharing and troubleshooting.
In addition to the OSHEAN Shore Patrol, OSHEAN members participate in many other working groups. Working groups are developed any time there is a topic pertinent to some or all of our membership where collaboration of thoughts, ideas and best practices can be valuable.
