OSHEAN Beacon 2.0 Bids
OSHEAN has been awarded a $21.7M grant as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, which will be used to build a 339 mile fiber optic network ("Beacon 2.0") throughout RI and Bristol County, MA. The project commenced on 9/1/10 and must be completed prior to 8/31/13. For the the project, OSHEAN is seeking the following:
Field Project Manager - Contract Awarded
For its $21.7M Beacon 2.0 Project, OSHEAN has issued a Request for Quote for a multi-year agreement with a contractor for Field Project Manager services. The Field Project Manager will assit in the design and implementation of Beacon 2.0, interface with fiber Contractor(s), oversee schedules and ensure timely delivery, certify Contractor compliance, and act as OSHEAN's feet on the street for all engineering activites.

Attorney - Contract Awarded
To hire an Attorney to provide legal oversight for the Beacon 2.0 Project. The position may be considered multi-year, but not full time. OSHEAN expects that the Attorney will be available per the schedule of Beacon 2.0 and its activities. This schedule will vary in need throughout the life of the project.

Traffic Managemement Systems Contractor - Contract Awarded
To enter into an agreement with Traffic Management Systems Consultant who will advise OSHEAN on those portions of the fiber deployment that may support traffic management systems operated by the RI Department of Transportation, and other agencies in southeastern Massachusetts.
