Please join us for the next First Friday Forum on Friday, October 3rd, 9am - 11am at the OSHEAN offices in North Kingstown, RI.
During the meeting, OSHEAN will have representatives from Cisco to discuss their emerging SDN perspective called Cisco ACI (Application Centric Infrastructure) and the Cisco ASR 9000. According to Cisco - ACI in the data center is an holistic architecture with centralized automation and policy-driven application profiles. ACI delivers software flexibility with the scalability of hardware performance. The Cisco ACI architecture consists of: · The new Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches · A centralized policy management and Cisco Application Policy Infrastructure Controller (APIC) · A Cisco Application Virtual Switch (AVS) for the virtual network edge · Software and hardware innovations · Integrated physical and virtual infrastructure · An open ecosystem of network, storage, management, and orchestration vendors
In addition, OSHEAN will also discuss the Cisco ASR 9000. At most member sites, the core OSHEAN router is a 9000 with 1Ks. Many members also operate 9Ks as core routers. OSHEAN has asked Cisco to present the latest attributes of the 9K and also a future roadmap. Among the features of the 9K that are germane to your OSHEAN network are service flexibility and high availability. The 9K is powered by Cisco IOS XR Software, a self-healing, distributed operating system designed for always-on operation that allows scaling of system capacity into multiple terabits per second (Tbps). We look forward to seeing your there!
