Registering for Ruckus:

  1. Go to http://www.ruckus.com
  2. Click the black and white "Join Today" button
  3. Fill out the required information. Remember you must use your school email address so that Ruckus can authenticate you as a student or faculty member.
  4. After Ruckus has authenticated your school email address, you will receive an email with a link. Click that link to continue your registration.
  5. Fill out the remaining personal information and click "Next".
  6. You are now able to log into Ruckus.
 


Logging in to Ruckus:

  1. Go to: http://www.ruckus.com/ruckus/logon/
  2. Enter your registered school email address and password
  3. Click the blue "Login" button.


Downloading and Installing the Ruckus Player:

  1. Log in to Ruckus.
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page and click the "Ruckus Player" link.
  3. Click the blue "Download Ruckus Player" button to download the software. Save the download to your desktop.Once the download has completed, click the icon labeled "Ruckus_Player_Setup" to begin installation.
    1. Click "Next
    2. Click "I Agree"
    3. Click "Next"
    4. Click "Next"
    5. Click "Finish"
    6. Click "Let's Go!"
    7. Click "OK" to restart your computer and complete installation.
  4. Once your computer has finished rebooting, double click the Ruckus icon on your desktop to launch the player.
  5. Ruckus will prompt you to log in with your registered email address and password.


Downloading Files:

  1. Launch the Ruckus Player software.Enter your registered email address and password to log in.To download music or movies, click the pink "Go to Ruckus.com" button.
    1. Note: you may have to re-enter your login information.
  2. In the upper left corner there is a search bar. The drop down menu allows you to target your search into the following categories:
    1. Music: Artist
    2. Music: Album
    3. Music: Track
    4. Movies
    5. People
  3. Enter your search term(s) and pick the most applicable category for your search.To download music or movies, click the yellow "Download" or green "Buy" button.You can follow the status of your downloads by selecting the "My Downloads" tab in the Ruckus Player
  4. Please remember that Ruckus may not always have everything you are looking for.


Creating Playlists:

  1. To create a playlist, click the green "+" button in the "My Music" tab of the Ruckus Player.
  2. Ruckus will prompt you to name your playlist. Fill in a name and click "OK".
  3. To put a song in your playlist, right click it in the "My Music" tab and select "Copy To > (playlist name)" OR click and drag the song to the playlist.


Notes and Further Information:

  1. Files downloaded from Ruckus cannot be burned to CD.
  2. Files downloaded from Ruckus cannot be transferred to an Apple iPod.
  3. Files downloaded from Ruckus can be transferred to most other MP3 devices.
