In collaboration with UMass Amherst and the Massachusetts Green High-Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC), OSHEAN and CEN, NEREN presents the eighth in a series of day-long seminars devoted to proposing and advancing ideas for regional collaboration in research computing and networking.  The theme of the seminar will be Networking in the Northeast – Past, Present and Future.

From the days of ARPANET, networking technologies have adapted to accommodate massive changes in compute and application architectures.  Speeds and topologies have evolved to address migrations from centralized to distributed to hybrid compute and storage all in an effort to empower the enterprise and the researcher.  In the Northeast we have witnessed an amazing development of the network fabric, the building of powerful Regional Providers and the opening of opportunities to easily consume remote Cloud Services, HPC and Big Data stores.  This Seminar will focus on the past, present and future of the network in the northeast including the campus, regional and interconnect architectures that are driving the ecosystem.

By attending in person, you will gain the added benefit of interpersonal networking with peers from across the Northeast region.

Agenda and details/logistics (in person and remote access) will be provided in the coming weeks.

To register online, click HERE or contact  Laurie Robinson, NEREN Program Administrator, at or by phone: 401-523-5107. When registering, please indicate whether you are attending in person or remotely.
