Internet NET+ Regional Partner Program

Take advantage of cloud services and applications custom-tailored for higher ed institutions.

As a member of Internet2, an advanced technology community founded by the nation’s leading higher education institutions, OSHEAN is able to offer a new regional partner program called NET+, conceived and led by the Internet2 research and education (R&E) community.

The NET+ initiative leverages the collective efforts of participating R&E members to select, develop, and deliver cloud services and applications custom-tailored to the R&E network, including unique trust and identity technologies. Through the Internet2 NET+ partnership, cloud solution providers tailor their agreements and standards to meet shared R&E needs. Each service then undergoes rigorous, peer-driven security, accessibility and performance reviews.

  • Internet2 NET+ services are targeted at several distinct areas of need in the research and education community.
  • The Internet2 NET+ service catalog has offerings in five general domains (“service types”), including Software as a Service, Security and Identity, Infrastructure and Platform Services, Video / Voice / Collaboration, and Digital Content for Research and Education.
  • This program is open to all registered U.S.-based Higher Education Institutions that meet not for profit and participation criteria (and that are also OSHEAN members).
  • Some of the services currently available through NET+ include Office 365, Splunk, SIP Services (Powered by Aastra and Level3), Box, OneCampus, Duo Security, and InCommon, with more services added on an ongoing basis.

OSHEAN is committed to creating an environment that encourages collaboration and learning through shared experiences and resources to continually develop expertise within its member organizations. As such, OSHEAN regularly offers a number of cost-savings programs for members such as pre-negotiated license pricing, nationally negotiated ISP pricing, member to member infrastructure and colocation environment sharing and multi-tenant virtual private cloud services.
